The Rustlers had attendees saying “we want some more of it” after their Friday night performance. Glen Cove put on its dancing boots and country girls hit the dance floor to shake it. Crowds of people took to the dance floor to line dance, encouraging others to join in.
The Rustlers bring exciting onstage presence and high energy performances of the best classic and contemporary country and rock n’ roll that will please all audiences.
Featuring seasoned players and vocalists from top local acts, The Rustlers are the “must have band” for live country music. Steady bass and drum grooves will keep audiences dancing, with searing instrumental leads and vocal harmonies blended to create The Rustlers’ distinct three-part harmony sound.
Friday’s concert had a magical Downtown Sounds Teen Showcase. At 7 p.m. before the concert cast members from the Glen Cove Finley Middle School Drama Club’s production of “Aladdin” performed high energy fun songs from the show. Kids in the audience dawned sparkly dresses and danced along to the music.
The Glen Cove Downtown BID makes sure everyone has something to do at Downtown Sounds.
The mini gallery displaying the Glen Cove High School students’ banners and bios was displayed again this week; the banners will be showcased on lampposts throughout downtown until November. Vendors lined the side street handing out information, snacks and more; games brought families some competitive fun.
Downtown Glen Cove is full of places to grab a cold beer or a bite on a Friday night. Henry’s remained open for ice cream, and people could order from Tocolo Cantina’s exclusive picnic menu at a table outside of the restaurant for faster takeout service. During the concerts you can stop in for whatever you may be craving, from authentic Salvadoran food at El Tazumal to ramen at Kiko Ramen or fried chicken at Mad Chicken, and much more.
The Downtown Sounds concert series takes place every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Village Square. The next concert will be July 26 with Arena Rock Tribute.
