That ‘70s Band is Simply the Best

That ‘70s Band turned downtown into a boogie wonderland Friday as they closed out the Downtown Sounds concert series. People of all ages got up to groove to crowd favorites like YMCA.

That ‘70s Band was formed in 2005 and is credited by many club and venue owners as leading the way to bringing back live dance music on Long Island, That ’70s Band features ultra-talented vocalists and musicians that deliver passion and fun to their audiences with every performance.

The night kicked off with short speeches by Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck congratulating the B.I.D.’s new Executive Director Jill Nossa on a successful Downtown Sounds.

The band worked hard for their money getting off stage and taking the hands of young children, teens, and adults to dance and jump around. Councilwoman Marsha Silverman was pulled up on stage to play the tambourine along with the band for a few songs. The night was made complete with tables from Downtown Sounds sponsors Optimum and Northwell Health as well as Mister Softee’s ice cream truck.

The performance concluded the concert series that took place every Friday night from July 7 until August 25. The Downtown B.I.D. would like to thank The View Grill for being August 25’s restaurant sponsor.
