Nonstop to Cairo is quickly emerging as one of New York’s premiere bands as they bring their music, a unique blend of ska, hip-hop and funk, to a dedicated fan base up and down the East Coast.

Nonstop to Cairo has performed alongside an impressive array of acts including The Wailers, Dirty Heads, Galactic, Matisyahu, Fishbone, Redman and many others.

The band recorded their first EP with multi-platinum record producer Jim Sabella in 2009 and had their single “We Be,” in rotation on Faction 41 – Sirius XM Satellite Radio for over a year.

Currently, Nonstop to Cairo has completed their debut album, Dabble Heavy; recorded with their good friend and producer Tom Stiegler of Blokhed Studios.  Together they were dedicated bringing a classic album to their fans and the world at large.  The album has been a two year process of refining their sound to capture the full essence of who they are as a band and the message they want to convey.

Artistically speaking, Dabble Heavy is the band’s crowning achievement and the hard work and dedication to its inception can be heard in every note and groove; particularly on the songs “Influenzska,” Skip” and “Get the Girl.”

Dabble Heavy has it all. Love songs, party songs, songs that challenge us to strive for a life of passion; it’s a nonstop ride from beginning to end. The 5-man contingent (Nick Diamond; August Harris; Andrew Joseph; Alex Turner and Matt Ezzo) elected for a gradual, organic build up, which has resulted in cult-like attention on the East Coast. “We wanted to take our time with each step of the process,” says Ezzo. To that end, legendary My Father’s Place-proprietor Michael ‘Eppy’ Epstein has stepped in to consult the band on management, saying, “Their energy is terrifically addictive; and, the five are all on the same page. There’s so much that goes into success and they are well ahead of the pack already.”

Even without a proper album yet available, Nonstop To Cairo has already made a hit with the media, who have already embraced their signature sound.

The Island’s Independent said of the band: “Shoulder to shoulder, elbow-to-elbow, hip-to-hip, everybody bounced, a single entity in thrall of the energy. Nonstop To Cairo snagged a late night slot at The Point during last spring’s Montauk Music Festival and, quite simply, rocked the house to the rafters.”

And, the blog Chunkyglassses.com said, “Vocalist August Harris’ frenetic movement and great voice calls to mind a young Angelo Moore – in fact comparing Nonstop to Fishbone isn’t unrealistic; the band has seemingly limitless energy, never more than    when bassist Matt Ezzo left the stage to ply his trade on wet grass with the fans. One could describe Nonstop to Cairo the way John Fishman once described Fishbone – “tighter than a mosquito’s ass”.”

This quintet of childhood and longtime friends are ready to elevate their career to the next level through the power of music. Whether, on record or attending a live show, Nonstop to Cairo is a guaranteed exceptional music experience for the listener and they invite anyone who will hear them to grab hold and enjoy the adventure.
