It was an elegant affair on March 23 as two new businesses, Looks 2 Love by Lis and BARBA Trims & Shaves, were welcomed by the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District and the North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with a double ribbon cutting ceremony.
The husband and wife team of Elvis and Lisbeth Abreu joined forces to renovate the lower level of 3 School Street and bring high quality salon services to men and women. After five years and numerous setbacks – including the pandemic, flooding and the birth of a son— both spaces are finally open for business and ready to serve customers.
Women looking for hair, makeup, nail and spa services will get the royal treatment at Looks 2 Love by Lis, while men can get pampered at BARBA Trims & Shaves while having a drink, smoking a cigar and listening to the live band. Both businesses were given citations from the Glen Cove Downtown BID, The City of Glen Cove, The Chamber of Commerce, the North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the office of New York State Assemblyman Charles D. Lavine. A grand opening celebration followed with passed hors d’oeuvres appetizers, champagne, top shelf cocktails and a jazz quartet.
