Kamellot to Perform Rock and Blues Classics
Classic rock and blues standards will be featured when Kamellot takes the stage at the Glen Cove Village Square Plaza on Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Formed in 2012, this band is renowned for its powerful take on the hard-driving rock that defined the ‘70s.
Kamellot is fast becoming one of the premier tribute bands in and around Long Island. The band was formed when percussionist Dr. G and lead guitarist Elliot Negrin bonded due to their mutual love of rock and R&B. When lead singer Ed Terry and sax man Wayne Wofford joined the mix, the band reached a new level and with subsequent additions of Stu Waters (keys), Shawn Murray (drums), Krista Marie (vocals) and Alan Levy (bass), the group was complete.
Kamellot’s mission is to expand their touring throughout the tri-state area. Since their formation, they have performed at many clubs, music venues and major festivals on Long Island. Included on their resume is a week-two performance during Downtown Sounds 2017. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate that evening and their performance had to be moved indoors, but the rain did not dampen audience members’ enthusiasm as the band had the Robert M. Finley Middle School rockin’. Downtown Sounds 2019 is happy to have them back this year.
