The weather was no heartbreaker this Friday as clear skies held out on downtown Glen Cove. Best Shot, a Pat Benatar tribute band took the stage at Downtown Sounds to hit us with their energetic performance.
The band recreates a classic Benatar concert featuring note-for-note renditions by stellar lead vocalist, Melissa Lotardo.
Despite the wonderful weather, attendees did see some rain, as the band pulled out a large slingshot. In an energetic moment Best Shot t-shirts flew through the air to some lucky crowd members.
Prior to the concert, the Teen Idol contest took place. Attendees were again treated to performances by all four contestants: Tatiana Andino-Mendez, Charlotte Dilgard-Clark, Stasia Kulpa and Tammy Pattugalan.
The Downtown Sounds concert series is every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Village Square. The Teen Idol contest happens in the same location prior to the concert at 7 p.m. The next Downtown Sounds concert will be July 21 with a performance by Lovesong, an ’80s New Wave tribute band.
