Halloween in Glen Cove brought all treats and no tricks this year as monsters, witches and aliens took over downtown Saturday.
Creatures of all shapes paraded down School Street ending at a thrilling Halloween Festival in Village Square. Every ghoul and goblin was able to participate in a variety of different games, contests and other fun activities.
Everyone went home rich in candy after trick-or-treating at participating downtown businesses, filling bags and mouths with tasty sweets.
Kids played games and jumped in bounce castles while fun Halloween music filled the air. People showed off their boo-tiful costumes in contests to win prizes donated by event sponsors, competing in categories for best costumes for ages 0-4, 5-8 and 9-12, most creative costume and scariest costume. Some even stuffed their face in the pie eating contest.
For the first time this year, a murder mystery took place in the downtown area. Participants received an email asking for help to solve the murder of Mr. James Dalton and the theft of a valuable artifact. Then the investigators searched downtown’s participating businesses for clues, interacting with suspects, friends and business owners.
The Glen Cove Downtown B.I.D. wants to say a special thank you to all of our sponsors for making this a fang-tastic event:
