Downtown Glen Cove bustled with excitement during the Glen Cove Downtown BID Holiday Festival held on Saturday December 7th in the newly opened Village Square. Santa arrived on horse and carriage to the excitement of all the children. The Regency sponsored free photos with Santa in a beautifully decorated tent sponored by Safavieh. Everyone was treated to free horse and carriage rides, candy canes, hot cocoa and treats sponsored by American Paving and Masonry. The Avalon sponsored free Christmas Ornaments and the Max Challenge provided free stockings for the children to decorate. Live performances entertained the crowd all day! The Glen Cove High School Jazz band kicked off the celebration followed by Moving On A Live Arts Company, Garcia Muay Thai, Glen Gardens Choir Junior Choral Scholars, Jazz Hands Children’s Theater, North Shore Village Theater, Christmas Carols by Lexi, Jacki and Ava and finally The Slayer Players performing excerpts from a “Christmas Carol”. After the performances wrapped up, the City of Glen Cove ended the day with the Annual Tree Lighting!
