Panic was Singin’ in the Rain at Downtown Sounds

Downtown Sounds didn’t let the rain ruin a Friday night. With the threat of rain and dark skies Panic, a power pop band based out of Long Island, took to the stage and the concert started on time.

After just two songs rain began to fall, but there was no need to panic. The heavy rain posed a threat with the sound equipment, so the concert was forced to pause. Attendees took cover under shop overhangs or inside downtown bars and restaurants, taking the time to have a drink, snack, or socialize.

At 8:30 the rain cleared, Panic took to the stage and attendees crowded the street.

Rain wasn’t the only thing showering down during the concert. The band threw out Panic tee-shirts and bubbles given to the crowd filled the air. Everyone was into the music and the concert went overtime to keep the party going.

The Downtown Sounds concert series takes place every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Village Square. The next concert will be August 9 with Let it Bleed, a tribute to The Rolling Stones. The Glen Cove Downtown B.I.D. thanks La Famiglia for being August 2’s restaurant sponsor.
